Rodric David

Rodric is a serial entrepreneur and Producer who has founded and successfully exited many companies in a variety of industries throughout his career. He has spent the past 15 years focusing on the convergence of technology and entertainment during the period when content distribution control and monetization was broadly fracturing and the Creator Economy was emerging.

Entertainment services company Thunder Studios was founded by Rodric in 2013 in Long Beach California providing integrated Studio services, equipment rental and live broadcasting services from its 6-acre Production Studio  with 15 Sound Stages, Virtual Production and XR (extended Reality) stage and fleet of mobile broadcasting trucks. Thunder Gaming was founded by Rodric in 2015 as an esports and gaming tournament organizer and event producer from its custom-built esports arena at Thunder Studios. Infinite Reality (iR) was co-founded by Rodric in 2018 to create a revolutionary new entertainment distribution platform using photorealistic 3D (spatial) environments using game engine mechanics for audiences to immersively explore and interact with live programming.

In January 2022 Thunder Studios, Thunder Gaming and Infinite Reality were acquired by venture backed Display Social in a $1.2 Billion transaction with the combination rebranding as Infinite Reality moving forward. In July 2022 as President of Infinite Reality Rodric led the acquisition by iR of esports organization and Influencer Management company ReKT Global for $470million.

In December 2022 Infinite Reality was acquired by SPAC, Newbury Street Acquisition Corporation  (NASDAQ: NBST) in a $1.85Billion transaction. Soon after this transaction Rodric resigned from his role as President of Infinite Reality to pursue his passion for innovation in the creator economy through his investment vehicle Thunder Venture Equity, Inc.

As a thought leader in Web3 technology and the emergence of the Open Interoperable Metaverse, Rodric has been a sought-after guest speaker at industry events around the world. Additionally, Rodric is an accomplished Executive Producer having produced television, digital media, and feature films including ‘9/11’ starring Charlie Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg, ‘Paradise Cove’ starring Mena Suvari, the award winning ‘A Fighting Season’, ‘Sweetwater’ starring Richard Dreyfus, and Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut ‘Come Swim’.

Rodric is a multi-patented inventor for inventions in Web3 and the Creator economy and is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts (USCSDA), and was recently appointed to the Board of Councilors for USCSDA.  Rodric continues to influence the next generation of creatives and technologists through his speaking engagements, sharing insights on the convergence of technology and live performance and by periodically presenting Masterclasses for USC students. In March 2023, the USC School of Dramatic Arts partnered with Thunder Studios to produce the spring musical ‘Urinetown’ as a live virtual production broadcast globally into and from the Metaverse.
