As a major center of American theatre and, of course, a world center for film and television production, the city is home to an unmatched community of artists upon which the School draws for its faculty and guest artists. By working with professionals, our students receive practical insights into their art and the crucial experience of performing in “real world” conditions. They also make professional contacts that are critical for starting a career.
In addition to vibrant ethnic neighborhoods, one-of-a-kind attractions, trendy restaurants and shops, and sun-drenched beaches, Southern California features more performance venues than anywhere else in the country. World-class venues – including the Los Angeles Music Center (home to the Ahmanson Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Walt Disney Concert Hall), The Pasadena Playhouse and the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood – are all just minutes from campus. From Disney and Warner Bros. in Burbank to 20th Century Fox in West Los Angeles and Sony in Culver City, the heart of the entertainment industry is nearby.
