In 2016, the USC School of Dramatic Arts launched its first-ever Alumni Leadership Council (ALC). Since that time the ALC has grown into a dynamic group who represent the many diverse fields of study and professional experience of our unique and exemplary alumni base.
This fall, Devin Kelley (BFA ’08) and Tomm Polos (BFA ’10) became the co-chairs of the ALC. They write to introduce themselves to the valued alumni of the USC School of Dramatic Arts.
Welcome back to the USC School of Dramatic Arts! No matter your degree or discipline, we are thrilled that you have found your way back to USC. The Bing, Scene Dock, Massman and McClintock Theatres have been calling your name!
Here’s the good news: solely by graduating, you are automatically a part of the USC Alumni Association and have access to all of the advantages that come with that distinction. Not only the perks and incentives from many local and global businesses, but the joy, fellowship, and support system that comes with joining the ranks of your fellow SDA Trojans.
In our School’s case, the mutual memories are even more specific than most. Many of us have learned the same lessons from the same life-changing teachers. We have capered about in chair-less classrooms, attempted seemingly non-sensical vocal exercises, and endured tech horror stories that will echo in our performance venues long after Commencement has called our names.
Even if you feel like your time was long ago—your impact remains current. A School of storytellers needs continuity and the students are the chapters. Whether you are a Half-Century Trojan and called the 1950s your decade or you just recently donned a cap and gown—we need your involvement.
We want to remain in touch so we can continue this story. Together.
Please sign up for our email list or reach out to us directly to hear about the many ongoing, inclusive and epic events that celebrate current students, aid the careers of our alumni, and honor our collective past accomplishments. USC’s School of Dramatic Arts continues to be the epicenter for community-driven storytelling in the entertainment capital of the world and we have you to thank.
Please join us as we raise the curtain, once more, to Fight On.
Thank you Five,
Devin Kelley (BFA ’08)
Tomm Polos (BFA ’10)
