In early March, the USC School of Dramatic Arts community gathered at the Dick Wolf Drama Center for a memorable evening celebrating the establishment of the Philip G. Allen Scholarship. Emceed by SDA alumnus and Board of Councilors member Rik Reppe, who established the scholarship, the event brought together alumni, current students, faculty, staff and friends to mark the launch of this new scholarship focused on expanding access and opportunity for SDA’s sound and production students. The evening was filled with warmth, gratitude, and laughter—highlighted by a heartfelt (and bravely undertaken) speech from Phil himself, despite his well-known reluctance to take the stage. This new endowment ensures that its impact will continue to support SDA students for years to come.
