Biography

Noel Nichols (they/she) is a sound designer with roots in Phoenix, Arizona and New York City. They work most frequently with design collective UptownWorks to design sound for theatre, film and new media and continue to work regionally while in residence here at USC. They have worked across the country with companies including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, Studio Theatre, Third Rail Projects, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and more. Locally, they have worked with South Coast Repertory, Skylight Theatre, The Geffen Playhouse and Native Voices. In New York they worked as a Broadway associate in 2024 and have designed for New York Theatre Workshop, En Garde Arts, Noor Theatre, Visceral Entertainment, The Hearth, Classic Stage Company and others. They have also worked extensively in the world of audio dramas, with work currently available for streaming on Audible, Spotify and Apple. MFA in Sound Design, Yale School of Drama.
