Play 1: spices

By Moriya Dichter
Directed by Alana Dietze

Performance Date & Time
Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 19 at 8 p.m.

About
Cassie has always felt like an outsider in her school, despite attending a Quaker school where one of the core values is community. She doesn’t fit in socioeconomically or academically, which leaves her in danger of failing her classes and losing her scholarship. Cassie must decide if it’s worth fighting to stay within the only community she’s ever known, even if it will never truly accept her.

Play 2: The Normal Force

By Jason Grasl
Directed by Michele Shay

Performance Date & Time
Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 19 at 2:30 p.m.

About
On the brink of discovering dark matter, Logan Strain Heart, a PhD candidate in particle physics, is confronted externally with fundamentalist protesters who object to the research of the so-called “God particle”, and internally by quid pro quo demands to support controversial artificial intelligence that involves his tribe’s DNA. To make matters worse, his still-helicoptering mother, whom he has a tenuous relationship with, has come to visit on the last weekend of his research’s funding, and his dissertation advisor and mentor has recently passed away.
