PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In this unique experiential educational opportunity, students learn what it means to intensively workshop new musicals on their way toward commercial production. During this two-week workshop, students will work side-by-side with industry professionals in all major roles – stage management, script supervision, performance, directing and more – as the visiting artistic team takes bold steps to workshop and refine a new musical.

LOCATION
This two-week experiential workshop will take place on the USC Campus in Los Angeles.

STUDENT INFORMATION
This program is open to all USC students. Selection will be competitive with a final group of students selected to participate.

ACADEMIC CREDIT
Students are required to enroll in a 2 unit course, THTR499: LA Lab for Musical Theatre as part of the Spring semester. (Please note, this will fulfill 2 units of upper-division elective credit for USC School of Dramatic Arts students.)

APPLICATION/INTERVIEW PROCESS
Applications are now available. Students should sign up for a screening interview when submitting their application. The School of Dramatic Arts’ Office of Admissions and Student Services will notify all accepted students and will provide clearance for registration.

HOUSING
Housing is not required but will be available in USC Housing for an additional cost. Singles may also be available.

PROGRAM COSTS
Undergraduate student flat tuition covers up to 18 units for the semester so no additional charges will be incurred for this 2-unit course unless students need to enroll in spring for more than 18 units. Certain students may be eligible for an Academic Achievement Award. Students will be required to cover housing, meals and incidental costs at their own expense.

FINANCIAL AID
Accepted students may petition the Financial Aid office for extra funding to cover program costs. Funding is not guaranteed.
