Biography

Marissa D. Gonzalez earned her BA in Communication from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where she also worked for four years as an event planner.

In 2011 Marissa joined the USC School of Dramatic Arts as its Director of Special Events, where she spent a decade producing events including commencement, new student welcome, Trojan Family Weekend, alumni and donor events and many others. She also managed ticketing for over 100 performances each academic year.

In 2021 Marissa produced the school’s 75th anniversary event, The Odyssey, which brought together alumni, donors and industry leaders to celebrate over 75 years of dramatic art at the University of Southern California.

Beginning in 2022 Marissa will focus on fundraising and stewardship for SD.

Marissa is legally blind and spends her free time volunteering for World Eye Cancer Hope USA, an international non-profit focusing on the pediatric eye cancer retinoblastoma.
