Biography

Deborah Lew’s Broadway credits include Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Vixen in The Threepenny Opera at Studio 54. She also performed the role of Liat in Bartlett Sher’s production of South Pacific at Lincoln Center. She has sung with the New York City Opera in Candide as the Pink Sheep, and Cinderella (Cinderella standby). Other Off-Broadway credits include Psyche in Cupid and Psyche at the Houseman, and No, No Nanette at City Center Encores. Regionally, Deborah has starred in shows such as Up In The Air (Sujata, World Premiere, Kennedy Center), West Side Story (Maria, Joseph Jefferson Award nomination), Les Miserables (Cosette, Atlanta TOTS & Wolf Trap Theatre), Amour (Isabelle, Goodspeed), Cinderella (Cinderella, North Shore), Miss Saigon (Kim, WBT), Myth (Elizabeth, O’Neill Theatre Center) and The King and I (Tuptim, Westin Playhouse). Most recently she played Frieda/Betty in Sarna Lapine’s production of Sunday In The Park With George at the Pasadena Playhouse. Workshops include Princess Ssu-Ming in The Nightingale by Duncan Sheik, and Linh in Tears of Heaven by Frank Wildhorn. In addition to performing, Deborah is a theatre educator and voice teacher who has taught master classes at theatre institutions across the United States as well as Europe. She has a vocal studio in Los Angeles and is currently serving as adjunct lecturer at the USC School of Dramatic Arts.
