Biography

Debi Manwiller is the new Director of the SDA Professional Development Center, bringing over 35 years of casting experience to her role. She is also currently a Casting Consultant for Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and a partner at Manwiller/Boast Casting.

A two-time Emmy Award-winning Casting Director, Debi has had the honor of curating and shaping many casts. Her work has contributed to over 400 nominations and more than 100 wins across the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards. She has collaborated with every major studio and network.

Her resume spans more than 500 hours of scripted television, over 30 feature films, video games, web series, and hundreds of theatrical productions. She has worked with top-tier Hollywood producers and directors, including Kathryn Bigelow, Danny Strong, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer, Kennedy/Marshall, Howard Gordon, David E. Kelley, Rodrigo Garcia, Peter Berg, Darren Star and Oliver Stone.

Her projects have featured acclaimed actors such as Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron, Rami Malek, Chris Cooper, Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Keanu Reeves, Justice Smith, James Spader, Kiefer Sutherland, Ted Danson, Hugh Laurie, Alex Wolff, Fiona Shaw, Cameron Diaz and Christian Slater, among others.

Debi holds a BFA in Theatre from the California Institute of the Arts, and her passion for finding the perfect match for every role continues to drive her work. Originally from her beloved home state of Oregon, she loves the outdoors and hopes to lace up her Nikes for a run on the gorgeous USC campus!
