A Day in the Life

Wonder what it’s like being at the University of Southern California? Here are snapshots of a day in the lives of three dramatic arts students.

    Derek and Kameron start their morning by visiting the new Starbucks at the University Village.
  • 8:55 a.m.

    8:55 a.m.

    BFA acting major Mayra begins her day by biking to the Drama Center for her class, THTR 427: Audition Technique for Film, Television and New Media.
  • 10:15 a.m.

    Derek, a BFA design major, updates his lighting paperwork at the University Village.
  • 11:05 a.m.

    11:05 a.m.

    After class, Mayra drops by to visit Meghan Laughlin, director of internships and special programs, to talk about summer internship opportunities.
  • 12:00 p.m.

    12:00 p.m.

    Kameron, Derek and Mayra meet up on the steps of the Tutor Campus Center to catch up before lunch.
  • 1:30 p.m.

    1:30 p.m.

    Mayra and Kameron rehearse in the Massman Theatre for an upcoming Independent Student Production.
  • 2:00 p.m.

    2:00 p.m.

    Derek joins Kameron and Mayra's rehearsal to edit some cues.

    As part of his THTR 130: Introduction to Theatrical Production class, BA student Kameron and his classmate help put some finishing touches on the set of the School's production of the School's fall musical.
  • 5:00 p.m.

    5:00 p.m.

    Derek, Mayra and Kameron grab a bite for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.
  • 6:00 p.m.

    6:00 p.m.

    Derek heads off to work at Bovard Auditorium for a Visions and Voices event.
  • 6:30 p.m.

    6:30 p.m.

    Meanwhile, Kameron and Mayra join other SDA students at the Bing Theatre for a special Spotlight@SDA event with The Big Bang Theory's Simon Helberg.
  • 10:00 p.m.

    10:00 p.m.

    After a long and eventful day, Kameron returns to his dorm room at the University Village for some well-deserved sleep.
