Associate Professor of Scenic Design and Head of Design Takeshi Kata received a 2022 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Scenic Design for a Play, announced on May 16. His nomination is for his scenic design of the recent Broadway production of Clyde’s, which performed at the Helen Hayes Theater.
Lynn Nottage’s Clyde’s is a funny, moving and urgent play that follows a formerly incarcerated kitchen staff of a truck stop sandwich shop, who find purpose and permission to dream by their shared quest to create the perfect sandwich.
Winners of the Drama Desk Awards will be announced the week of June 6.
