Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches

April 18–27, 2025
Summary
Set in 1980s New York City, Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece follows a gay man abandoned by his lover when he contracts the AIDS virus and a closeted Mormon lawyer struggling with his pill-popping wife. The soaring architecture and stained-glass windows of the School of Dramatic Arts’ new Sanctuary Theatre create a powerful backdrop for Kushner’s epic story which, 30 years after its premiere, remains one of the most important plays in American history.
