Biography
Amrita Dhaliwal (she/her) is an award-winning Punjabi American comedian, arts leader, educator and devising artist based in Los Angeles, whose work spans multiple mediums, from stage to TV & Film. As an educator, Amrita views her role as a guide to help the participant discover their unique ridiculousness and develop a sense of play that helps them to be in touch with impulses and have more ease with failure. Amrita has taught with BlackBox Acting, the Idiot Workshop, and more. She is currently the Creative Director of the Idiot Workshop in Los Angeles. Amrita is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the School for Theatre Creators, a Lecoq based physical theater program. She has trained extensively in clown with Paola Coletto, John Gilkey and more. She is also a graduate of various improv/sketch programs; including: Second City Chicago, iO Chicago, Annoyance, UCB and Groundlings.
