Alumnus Stephen Edlund directs ‘A Bronx Tale’ on tour

Alumnus Stephen Edlund (BA ’09) is making his directorial mark across the country, as the director for the national tour of A Bronx Tale. The musical opens on Oct. 22 at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT.

Based on the Off-Broadway play that inspired the film, A Bronx Tale follows one man’s decision to choose between his father and a mob boss whom he aspires to become. The acclaimed musical premiered on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre, ending its run last August after 700 performances.

Edlund has directed shows at Paper Mill Playhouse, Center Theatre Group and Lincoln Center Theatre. His past associate directing credits include Shows for Days, Nantucket Sleigh Ride, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Harps and Angels. On Broadway, he was the associate director for Meteor Shower, A Bronx Tale, and Hello, Dolly!; and the assistant director for Sister Act.
