Defying Gravity: How the USC School of Dramatic Arts and the Trojan Marching Band Made Halftime Magic

What does it take to create a multi-platform spectacular that plays out across a football field, multiple jumbotrons, and in front of 77,000 live fans? Over 90 hours of preparation, four music videos, custom costumes, professionally recorded vocal tracks, and the combined talents of students, faculty, and staff from across the USC School of Dramatic Arts (SDA)—all coming together for an unforgettable 11-and-a-half-minute halftime performance. This behind-the-scenes video takes you inside the three-week journey of creating our groundbreaking Wicked collaboration with “The Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe, Ever,” the USC Trojan Marching Band.
