The SDA Dean’s Strategic Initiatives Fund (DSIF) is at the core of the School’s success. It provides unrestricted philanthropic support for the SDA’s areas of greatest need and allows Dean Emily Roxworthy to take advantage of strategic programming opportunities and provide innovative educational experiences to Dramatic Arts students as well as students across USC. It gives the School flexibility when responding to changes in the artistic landscape, ensuring that SDA is always offering the most relevant and contemporary skills as we forge the next generation of leading artists. With a robust DSIF the School is able to significantly grow and enhance a wide range of priorities, including more scholarships, new faculty appointments, and professional development opportunities for students and alumni. As SDA’s most vital source of unrestricted support, the fund provides the Dean with flexibility to support a multitude of initiatives that will enhance the educational experience for students and alumni, with a focus on innovative new programming under the dean’s leadership. The DSIF also helps support SDA’s growth and expansion, fueling a cutting-edge approach to dramatic arts training such as the new multihyphenate series launched in 2022 designed to embrace the Dramatic Artist as media-agile, multi-disciplined storytellers.
