Sacrifice Zone: Los Angeles art

March 11–13, 2021

SDA Digital Stage 1

Summary

Developed in collaboration with Arts in Action (USC’s program to activate intensive arts projects between community partners, students, and faculty), Sacrifice Zone: Los Angeles is a collaborative, documentary theatre piece that explores climate change through the point of view of our city’s sacrifice zones — places that have been devastated by oil drilling and industrial toxins. Using the words of local residents and environmental activists, the piece asks: “Are any of us safe from environmental harm if we allow communities within our midst to become wastelands?”
