Michael Despars BFA ’05 was recently elected as the president of the California Educational Teaching Association (CETA). Despars is currently the theatre arts director at Fullerton Union High School, and has directed productions that include The Women of Lockerbie, Cinderella, The Secret in the Wings and Kiss Me, Kate.

Despars was a recipient of CETA’s Theatre Leadership Award and New Teacher Award. On the CETA board, he served as the vice president of public high schools and he is the director of the Orange County CAPPIES Critics Program.
