Summer Institute for International ArtistsCurriculum

The Summer Institute runs Mondays through Fridays, 35 hours per week, with weekly outings scheduled on Saturdays.

Classes are taught by the internationally-acclaimed faculty of the USC School of Dramatic Arts. The School’s faculty of working artists are experts in their field and have an intimate understanding of the industry.

Classes Include:

Acting Explore the craft of acting through pioneering American methods and techniques
Acting for the Camera Examine the dynamics of acting in relation to film/television
Professional Seminar Join top agents, casting directors and other industry leaders as they discuss the business of acting
Audition Technique Master the successful audition with this step-by-step guide – from preparation to execution
English Class Receive immersive English language instruction

Improv Gain a comprehensive understanding of one of Hollywood’s most marketable skills
Voice Free the actor’s voice for use in all artistic mediums
Text Analysis Discover how to understand a script or screenplay for its dramatic potential
Physical Theatre Delve into movement training, maskwork, clowning and other ways to use the body for the actor
Singing Learn basic singing for the actor, with an emphasis in musical theatre
