Jeanette Harrison most recently directed the multi-Theatre Bay Area Award-winning production of The Amen Corner with AlterTheater Ensemble. Also with AlterTheater, she co-directed with Ann Brebner the world premiere of Landless by Larissa FastHorse (winner, 2016 Pen Literary Award, for best new play written west of the Mississippi) and The River Bride by Marisela Treviño Orta (co-winner of the National Latino Playwriting Award), both of which were developed under her guidance in AlterTheater’s yearlong playwright residency program, AlterLab, and produced in association with San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater. Trained in Denver and in Chicago, where she studied with renowned Shakespearean scholar David Bevington, she’s spent most of her professional life in San Francisco, working at Berkeley Rep, Magic Theatre, Aurora Theatre, Cutting Ball Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, California Shakespeare Theater, among others. She recently co-wrote a pilot with Sharmila Devar, Feathers and Dots, Dots and Feathers.
