John Lovick


Los Angeles-based magician Jack Lovick is a performer, writer and theatre director, who holds an MFA in Theatre Directing from the University of Washington in Seattle. As his not-so-secret alter ego, Handsome Jack, he performs around the world, including regular appearances at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, where he won the Parlour Magician of the Year Award in 2016. Recently, he appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, where he fooled Penn & Teller.

Lovick is known in the world of magic as the author of Handsome Jack, etc., a retrospective of his work, the first printing of which sold out in under three months. Previous books he authored or co-authored include SWITCH, Experience, The Paper Engine, Mayhew and Asi Wind’s Repertoire.
