Antigone X

Summary
Antigone X
by Paula Cizmar
Directed by Susan Dalian
Antigone X by SDA Professor Paula Cizmar reimagines Sophocles’ tragedy for our troubled times, exploring how bonds of kinship and shared humanity endure–or fracture–under the pressure of displacement and authoritarian rule. Set in a landscape of refugee camps and social upheaval, this powerful adaptation asks who will dare to defy unjust laws and follow the higher call of love and decency.
Taking advantage of our unique Los Angeles location, performances of this Stage to Screen Live presentation will be presented both on campus at the McClintock Theatre, and recorded for streamed presentations, giving student performers invaluable exposure to broader audiences.
