Denise Chamian, president of Denise Chamian Casting, Inc., began her career in the entertainment industry at a boutique agency. She went on to work for casting directors Janet Hirshenson and Jane Jenkins before starting her own company in 2001. She has worked with such distinguished directors as Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Tony Scott, William Friedkin, Tim Burton, Francis Lawrence, Gabriele Muccino, Michael Bay and Gore Verbinski, among many others.
Her resume includes movies as diverse as Saving Private Ryan, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Pursuit of Happyness, Big Fish and Minority Report. Current projects include the next installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, the psychological thriller A Cure for Wellness from director Gore Verbinski, the deep space thriller God Particle from producer J.J. Abrams and director Julius Onah, as well as season two of Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.
Chamian serves on the Advisory Board of The Felix Organization, which provides experiences and opportunities to enrich the lives of children growing up in the foster care system. She is an active supporter of Campbell Hall School, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Exceptional Children’s Foundation, Hollygrove Children and Family Services, Los Angeles Jewish Home, Museum of Modern Art and Venice Community Housing.
Chamian’s son, Daniel Magnante, works for Feigco Entertainment as the company’s creative executive and was recently featured on the Forbes 2015 “30 Under 30” in Hollywood list. Denise resides in Los Angeles.
